Kill 4 Carrots

In this country the promise of wealth is the carrot dangled in front of the mule. We are willing to live with less in order to protect riches we may never have. "Why should I pay higher taxes, to help the less fortunate, I worked for this money?". How many of us actually reach that elusive tax bracket where we become saddled with the undeserving poor?

But "distributing the wealth would be socialism". And we definitely want to avoid that at all costs. *sarcasm is implied*

Interesting map. All the countries considered to be part of the industrialized countries of the world have some form of universal health care. So I guess that's more proof that it wouldn't work in the "superpower of the world". *insert evil laughter*

You hit it right on the head, even though socialist programs exist all around us, public libraries, public schools, fire departments etc.

I agree, but when will it ever get to the point when the hand/body recognizes that it needs the feet to live or progress? In this society the hand is doing just fine without the feet. I hate the hand.
