A few years back I took my daughter to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This was my first post 911 visit. After entering, we were immediately channeled into a long line leading to a security check point, where they searched our bags for explosives and other terrorist wares. I was impatient and annoyed, my daughter on the other hand, having never been to the Met pre-911 was not the least bit phased; it all seemed normal to her. It made me think of how quickly the effects of social engineering could be seen, as well as all the things in her future that I would find odd and she would find to be perfectly normal.

I need to pull one last stick from my craw in regards to this election. Even though I understand and appreciate the sentiment, it's very hard for me not to say anything when I hear the phrase, "Our people died for the right to vote!".

Voting is a tool, a means to an end, they died for the right to self determination, and we, I, should use any means necessary to achieve that goal. Lets hope this was a true step in that direction.

The things that elicit great emotion from most people usually leave me cold. Tonight while surrounded by tears, praises to Jesus, and chants of "We have no more excuses!!", I found myself isolated and unmoved. No melancholy associated with it, after a while just a state of disbelief. Even though I had joked that a win for Obama, would produce a World Series type of euphoria, I was still unprepared for the reality of it.

There seemed to be a collective feeling of the books being balanced, a push button revolution. 400 years of guilt resolved and the needle on the gauge of black anger swinging from the red to the white, in one cathartic moment.
